Mozambique: APIEX and CCM reinforce export promotion partnerships

The Mozambican Chamber of Commerce (CCM) and the Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Exports (APIEX) re emphasised their partnerships in the scope of strengthening their activities promoting investment and exports this Tuesday.

The Mozambican Chamber of Commerce was represented at the meeting by Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly, Lucas Chachine, President Álvaro Massingue, Vice-President Módi Maleiane and Secretary General Teresa Muenda.

Alvaro Massingue acknowledged APIEX’s role in the development of business and exports as a promoter of relations between national and foreign companies, and reaffirmed the need to combine synergies, given that both APIEX and CCM are institutions with the capacity to increase the quality of exports.

“We have had exchanges with several organisations that support the CCM in training its members, in order to accord with the export criteria adopted in the European Union, American and others markets,” Massingue said.

Módi Maleiane then said he considered it strategic, in the context of holding events such as the Maputo International Fair (FACIM) and of improving the business environment, that both institutions invite other Chambers of Commerce and ally themselves with them.

Director General of APIEX Gil Bires said that, in addition to promoting investments, the institution he directs also focuses on exports and noted that, this year, activities have included CCM participation in the identification of new markets and products for exports and dissemination of Mozambique’s potential abroad.

“We positively praise and appreciate the approach of the CCM and reiterate our readiness to work together to boost the market,” Bires added.

In turn, the Deputy Director of APIEX Custódia Paúnde highlighted the partnership with CCM as an opportunity to strengthen relationships and train companies to export quality products.
