Mozambique’s Public Rescue Service (SENSAP) confirmed that a military plane has crashed on Tuesday morning at the area of the Maputo International Airport, killing two occupants on board.
A residential building on the ground was also destroyed in the incident, and preliminary information indicates no human losses at the residence while investigations are underway, according to the SENSAP’s Spokesperson Leonildo Pelembe who spoke to the press on the scene.
“Firemen from the airport services have already found the bodies of the victims and the national rescue services are on the site to ensure that there is no fire in the surrounding area,” said the spokesperson.
