Mozambique: Chapo awards honorary titles to over a thousand citizens

Mozambique’s president has expressed his intention to continue working with his Russian counterpart to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation, thanking him for the support and solidarity provided in the face of “the numerous challenges” of the country.
“I would like to reiterate my personal commitment and that of my government to continue working with your excellence towards strengthening the excellent and historical ties of friendship, solidarity and strategic cooperation for the progress and well-being of our countries,” Filipe Nyusi said in a message sent to Vladimir Putin, released on Friday ]January 7} by the Presidency.
The president’s message is alluding to the Christmas and New Year holidays, celebrated on 7 and 14 January in Russia, the Presidency said.
Filipe Nyusi thanked Russia’s “multiform support and solidarity” in response to Covid-19, consolidation of peace and development and the fight against the impacts of climate change in the country.
The Mozambican head of state also congratulated Vladimir Putin for his “solid leadership and dedication”, which allowed Russia to achieve “important progress aimed at providing well-being to its people”, the president continued.
He concluded by saying that “your perceptive posture as a global statesman has raised the Russian Federation to the level of a dynamic and indispensable player in matters of international peace, security and development”.
