Authorities in Mecuburi, Nampula, insist that there is no terrorist-inspired disorder in Namina administrative post.
Mecubúri administrator Orlando Maivane told Radio Mozambique that a video circulating on social networks does not depict people fleeing in fear, but rather the normal movement of families attending a ceremony.
Orlando Maivane said that the environment remains normal and calm, with people continuing to carry out their normal activities.
In turn, the spokesman for the PRM in Nampula, Zacarias Nacute said that the province was under control as regards security.
“As far as security is concerned, as far as the issue of terrorism is concerned, we think we are well covered. We all recently followed the launch of the special reserve forces that will reinforce some points in our province and beyond. We call on the population to collaborate and, if they have suspicions, alert the police so that they can assess what is going on,” he said.
