Emergency work on the restoration of drinking water via the Muidumbe distribution system in Ntchinga, Cabo Delgado, draws to a close this week.
Parts of the infrastructure, which serves 15,000 inhabitants, were vandalised by terrorists, but, by next Wednesday, the system is expected to be back in operation.
‘We are working putting the Muidumbe system, in Ntchinga, back into operation after a hiatus of almost a year due to insecurity in the area. In the process, there will be some cleaning work on the dam and the weir, plus operationalization of the emergency generator groups, as well as the collection group,” explained Lucas Hilário Saquina, Water Supply Investment and Heritage Fund (FIPAG) delegate in Mueda.
