On August 31, 2021, the U.S. Embassy in Mozambique began operations in its new location at Avenida Marginal, 5467 in Maputo.
Routine Consular operations remain suspended and will resume at the new facility on September 9.
A formal opening and dedication ceremony will take place at the end of September.
The U.S. Ambassador and all U.S. government agencies – with the exception of Peace Corps, which maintains its current office – will be based at the new Embassy effective immediately.
