Just In: Mozambique President appoints new Chief of General Staff
Traditional healers in Gaza province are having difficulty acquiring herbal medicine due to the presence of armed men in the forests where they usually collect them.
The President of the Association of Traditional Healers of Mozambique in Xai-Xai, Francisco Tamele says that the remedies used by healers are mostly sourced in the centre of the country, but suppliers cannot enter the forest because of the military situation.
Tamele states that the situation is a serious concern for the makers of traditional medicine, as they can no longer satisfy their patients’ requirements.
Tamele went on to condemn armed Renamo men for continuing to attack civilians and destroy property at a time when preparations for a meeting between President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, and Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama are progressing well, writes Rádio Moçambique.
