Five people died and nine others were injured in an accident in the village of Chandame, Tsangano district, Tete province on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, five of the wounded were in serious condition and were taken to the Angónia District Hospital.
The passenger minibus, on the Chandame-Angónia route, went off the road and turned over. Five occupants, including the driver, lost their lives at the accident site.
“The vehicle came along at an ‘animated’ speed, went off the road and overturned. The driver is among the five people who died at the site of the accident,” PRM Tete spokesman Feliciano da Camara said, cited by Lusa.
