A South African citizen reportedly called António, and thought to be about 50 years old, was killed early on Monday by a gang of about 20 individuals in a heinous crime which has shocked the city of Nacala-Porto, Jornal Notícias printed edition reports this Thursday (May 13).
According to what ‘Notícias’ has learned, the victim was an employee of one of the companies that provides services to the Port of Nacala.
The gang reportedly invaded his home in the [Fernão Veloso] Lighthouse vicinity.
Witnesses report that, when the man became aware of the strangers’ presence, he opened his door and tried to escape. The perpetrators, still at large, took the man’s life with machetes and blunt instruments, and then stole a television, computers and clothing.
