The Frelimo Central Committee will meet on 22-23 May at the Central Party School in Matola city, Maputo province.
The Central Committee will discuss, among other matters of national interest, the security situation in the north and centre of the country, the party’s programme for the year 2021, and the outcome of the general, legislative and provincial assembly elections [of 2019].

A note sent to Rádio Moçambique’s editorial also records that the Frelimo Political Commission, which met on Wednesday in Maputo, welcomed the government’s commitment to measures ensuring that the country continues to enjoy an environment of political, social and economic stability.
The Political Commission’s note recognises the heroic achievements of the Defence and Security Forces defending the country, the population and the sovereignty in the Northern Operational Theatre.
The Frelimo Political Commission further recognised the progress that the country has made in controlling Covid-19, noting that the achievements result from the effort and sacrifice of Mozambicans.
