Nampula police spokesman Zacarias Nacute has told the press that 21 individuals were detained last week because police suspected they might be being recruited into terrorist groups in Cabo Delgado.
“When these individuals were questioned, the PRM sought to identify who they were, where they were going, where they were from, why they had come this far, what they were going to would… When questions were not satisfied, police became suspicious about these individuals’ real intentions,” Nacute reported.
When asked if they were going to Cabo Delgado to work, and who the employer was, they were unable to answer, without the least idea of where they were going to work. It is already known that Nampula has been a recruitment path into the ranks of the malefactors who are operating in Cabo Delgado … .” Nacute explained, according to Radio Mozambique.
