Mozambique: President warns of threat from 'wave of disinformation'

President Filipe Nyusi will address the nation at around 7h30m p.m., on the Situation of Public Disaster due to the Covid-19 pandemic..
The last time the Head of State addressed the nation on preventing and combating Covid-19, was on April 5.
At the time, the country had registered 68,227 cases of the novel coronavirus.
After Filipe Nyusi’s last communication, another 1,416 individuals became infected and the cumulative Covid-19 cases confirmed in the country reached 69,643.
With 25 more Covid.-19 deaths in 20 days the death toll rose from 782 to 807.
However, the number of recoveries increased from 57,234 to 62,452.
Likewise, from April 5 to this part, the number of active Covid-19 cases decreased, from 10,207 to 6,380.
Hospitalisations also fell, from 70 to 39, in three weeks.
The city and province of Maputo, Sofala, Nampula and Niassa provinces currently concentrate the highest number of Covid-19 active cases.
In his last address to the nation, Filipe Nyusi extended the curfew to all provincial capitals, starting at 10 pm.
