The National Defence and Security Council has been meeting to discuss the situation of terrorism in Cabo Delgado in Maputo since this morning.
The meeting takes place 48 hours after the President of the Republic said that a war was being imposed on the country in Cabo Delgado, hence the convening of the council to discuss the situation.
A statement outlining the decisions made will be released after today’s meeting.
On Wednesday, Filipe Nyusi announced from Heroes Square in Maputo that the government was sending ministers to Pemba to support those displaced, and opened the door for international aid in the fight against terrorism.
