The road connecting the Afungi peninsula to Palma in Cabo Delgado could be reopened at any time, TVM reported on Monday.
The Rapid Intervention Unit is currently completing operations “to clarify the route in terms of safety,” the governor of Cabo Delgado Valige Tauabo told TVM.
“The Defence and Security Forces are still on the ground and will not invite the population to return [to Palma town] without carrying out the work necessary to ensure their safety,” Governor Tauabo said.
