Webinar: Finance, Economic and Social Transformation in Mozambique
The online debate will be hosted by the Institute for Social and Economic Studies (IESE) and Gapi - Sociedade de Investimentos, on 31st March, from 2.30pm to 5pm (Maputo time), as part of the celebration of Gapi's 31st anniversary and the launch of the research project on finance and economic and social transformation in Mozambique (Poster). The launch will be made by Rafael Uaiene (President of the Board of Directors - PCA of Gapi) and Sérgio Chichava (Director of IESE).
The debate, moderated by Rosimina Ali (IESE), includes presentations on four themes: firstly, "Inclusive economic and social transformations - the response of BPD and FFE for three decades" (Speaker: Hermenegildo Gamito, former CEO of BPD and founder of Gapi). Second, "Women and the global discourses on land as an investment resource" (Speaker: Carla Braga, Eduardo Mondlane University - UEM). Third, "Inconsistencies and contradictions in agro-industrialisation strategy - the example of cashew industry" (Speaker: Francisco António Souto, founder of Gapi). Fourth, "Finance and economic and social transformation in Mozambique: lines of a research project" (Speaker: Carlos Castel-Branco, IESE and Centro de Estudos sobre África e Desenvolvimento - CEsA).
