Albano Carige António was sworn into office as President of Beira Municipal Council this Friday morning (05-03).
In his acceptance speech, Carige praised his predecessor Daviz Simango, promising to continue the work that he had started.
Albano Carige served as Councillor for Urbanization and Construction for a period of almost 12 years. He now succeeds Daviz Simango, who died on the 22nd of February.
The new mayor said that assuming the presidency of Beira municipality was a great challenge, and promised to consult closely with citizens in his efforts to solve the problems afflicting them.
