A 25-year-old young man, accused of and reportedly having confessed to killing three women and one man in the space of two months, has been arrested in Maputo province, allegedly for stealing.
The man, who claims to have 63 siblings, lived and worked in South Africa, where he was arrested several times for theft and burglary. In August last year, he was pardoned and deported to Mozambique, where he worked in a shop until being dismissed in December.
The alleged serial killer started his spree on Christmas Day last year, invading a home in Matola and murdering the man of the house.
“Justice must be done, it must be done for real, because this man is a murderous man. He doesn’t deserve to live,” one of the neighbours of the first victim said.
Next, the man started murdering maids. On 25 February, he entered another residence, assaulted three minors and allegedly killed the maid.
Nor did not stop there, confessing to having killed a domestic worker in the Tchumene II neighbourhood before this Tuesday (03-03) killing another domestic worker and leaving a five -year-old child seriously injured in Boane, Maputo province.
Talking to the press in the presence of the police, he said he entered this last residence by scaling a perimeter wall and gaining the roof of the house, from where he watched the movements of the owners of the residence. When they left for work, he started his, resulting in the death of the housekeeper and injuries to a security guard who tried to stop him.
“I killed three maids in the course of robberies. When I enter a house to steal, I kill maids if they appear. I hurt the children because they screamed, ”he explained.
Psychologist Ashimo Chagame says the way the murderer deals with his crimes and the coldness with which he reports the facts shows that he is a psychopath.
The murderer was active in various Matola neighbourhoods, and in Boane district, where he was born.
