Mozambique: Matsangaíssa Júnior introduced to President after leaving Military Junta – Sala da Paz

The information is contained in a message shared by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi on his Facebook page on Monday.

“Today I received the members of the Contact Group under the DDR. On the occasion, the leader of the Group, Mirko Manzoni, introduced me to André Matsangaíssa Júnior, who decided to leave the Renamo Military Junta and return to life among Mozambicans who are for peace, in response to my invitation and that of theUN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy , a gesture that we should all salute and encourage “, reads the message.

Matsangaissa, who was a direct collaborator of Mariano Nhongo, met with the President of the Republic at the Ponta Vermelha Palace, in the city of Maputo.

In the message, Nyusi also congratulates the Defence and Security Forces and calls on the remaining members of the Military Junta in the provinces Manica, Sofala, Tete and Niassa to join the Mozambican people and to participate in the construction of the country.
