Mozambique: Government announces US$20 million funding for seed production chain
The Ambassador of Indonesia to Mozambique, Titos Baptista, yesterday expressed in Maputo his country’s intention to cooperate more closely with Mozambique in the agriculture and tourism sectors.
“I discussed with the prime minister the good prospects for bilateral cooperation in tourism and agriculture,” Baptista said after a meeting with Carlos Agostinho do Rosario in Maputo, adding that the two countries would take steps to establish conditions for cooperation.
Baptista said an Indonesian company was already operating in the gas sector in Mozambique, having invested US$12 million (EUR 10.5 million) in preparation for gas prospecting in Sofala province in the centre of the country.
“In July, 200 Indonesian technicians will come to Mozambique to join the team involved in drilling in the gas field, and we hope that by 2018, we will have satisfactory results,” Baptista added.
