Mozambique: INAM predicts formation of cyclones Honde and Garance

The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) forecasts rainfall of 50 to 100 millimetres accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds up to 70 kilometres per hour in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane from Friday afternoon to Sunday.
In Maputo, the bad weather may affect the districts of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude and Manhiça and the cities of Maputo and Matola.
In Gaza, the districts of Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Chibuto, Massingir, Limpopo, Chonguene, Massangena, Mapai, Guijá, Mandlakazi and Bilene, and cities of Chókwè and Xai- Xai, could be affected.
In the province of Inhambane, the districts of Zavala, Inharrime, Panda, Zangamo, Homuine, Morrumbene, Funhalouro, Massinga, Vilanculos, Mabote, Inhassouro, Govuro and Cidade de Maxixe and Inhambane have been put on the alert.
INAM also warns that the weather may create waves up to five metres in height south of the 22nd parallel, and recommends taking appropriate precautionary and safety measures.
