Three doctors from the province of Zambézia are hospitalised with Covid-19 in the Quelimane isolation centre, where 11 more patients are currently receiving treatment.
Father Aldo Marchesini, a surgeon and a Roman Catholic priest, is one of those hospitalised doctors, the Chief Provincial Physician told Radio Mozambique.
“Our patients, including doctor Marchesini, are recovering. We will continue to monitor them and make every effort to ensure their return to good health,” doctor Isaias Marcos said.
Speaking to Radio Mozambique this Tuesday, the chief physician said that the province had registered 50 cases of Covid-19 among health workers since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Doctor Marcos took the opportunity to lament the general failure to comply with Covid-19 prevention measures, even while numbers were increasing, and called for more help from the public to help quell the spread of the disease.
