Mozambique: Efforts continue to restore water supply to Pemba in Cabo Delgado

The Covid-19 death toll in Mozambique now stands at 465, with five more deaths reported today: those of four (4) men and one woman; all of Mozambican nationality and whose ages vary between 53 and 70 .Of these, four deaths were declared yesterday [February 7] and one was declared today.
Mozambique recorded 312 more positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the country since the outbreak to 44,912 of these 44,596 of local transmission and 316 imported.
The City of Maputo recorded 128 new cases, corresponding to 40.1% of the total new cases reported today across the country. It was followed by the Province of Cabo-Delgado with 57 new cases today, corresponding to 17.9 %.
In the same period, there were 276 more people recovered from COVID-19, so the country currently has 27,438 recoveries.
In the past 24 hours, 1,838 samples of suspected cases were tested in the country.
Mozambique currently has 17,005 active cases of COVID-19.
