Covid-19: Secretary of State for Sports proposes additional restrictive measures

The Secretary of State for Sport is to propose additional restrictive measures for some parts of the sector to President Nyusi, Radio Mozambique reports today.
Carlos Gilberto Mendes says that one such area could be recreational sports, which are seeing the participation of hundreds of young people and adults nationally, without Covid-19 preventative measures being observed.
Mendes says he will propose measures to the head of state for immediate implementation, with a view to safeguarding the lives of Mozambicans participating in the country’s various sporting modalities.
Some sports can wait until it is certain that the new coronavirus is no longer a danger to practitioners, he said.
