Mozambique: Yassin Monteiro Nunes marries Princess Sibahle of Eswatini
Five people were killed and an undetermined number remain missing after a terrorist attack on Saturday afternoon near the headquarters village of the Pundanhar administrative post in Palma district, Cabo Delgado province.
According to ‘Carta de Moçambique’ sources, the victims were travelling from the headquarters village of Nangade district to the headquarters village of Palma district in six vehicles, three of which were ambushed.
In addition to the five fatalities, the three vehicles were destroyed and various goods looted.
The attack exacerbates an already worsening security situation on the Nangade-Palma stretch of road, the only land route connecting Palma with the rest of the province since the cutting of the Mocímboa da Praia-Palma road in August of last year.
