Mozambique: Civil servants to strike until 13th salary is paid, no negotiations - report

Mozambique today [Janaury 16 2021) reported 18 Covid-19 deaths: 17 in Maputo city and one in Zambézia province, the Ministry of Health (MISAU) has announced. Today the Covid-19 death toll in the country increased from 216 on Friday (January 15) to 234.
MISAU reports that, of the 18 deaths announced today, three were declared on Monday, 11 January: two were declared on Wednesday, 13 January; five deaths were declared on Thursday, 14 January; another five deaths were declared on Friday, 15 January; and three deaths were declared today, January 16..

All the victims were Mozambican nationals, 10 were male patients and eight were female.
The ages of the patients whose deaths were reported toda are as follows:
Mozambique has today also reported a further 858 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 25,862.
Maputo City recorded 298 of the 858 newly diagnosed cases, corresponding to 34.7% of the total new cases reported today across the country. It was followed by Maputo Province with 208 newly diagnosed cases (24.2%).
Today, MISAU also announced 144 more cases of patients who have fully recovered from the respiratory disease , which brings the cumulative of recoveries to 18,515.
There are 205 hospitalised patients in isolation centres and other health units, most of them in the city of Maputo.
Mozambique currently has 7.109 active cases of Covid-19.
