JUST IN: Mozambique reports four Covid-19 deaths; and 730 new cases

In the last 24 hours, Mozambique recorded an additional 730 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the cumulative number of patients to 23,726, of which 22,410 are of local transmission and 316 imported.

The City of Maputo recorded 311 new cases, corresponding to 42.6% of the reported daily total of new cases across the country. It was followed by Maputo Province with 185 newly diagnosed cases, corresponding to 23.3%.

In the same period, there were a further 112 people recovered from COVID-19, so the country currently has 18,282 recoveries.

Still in the period under analysis, there were four deaths of patients infected with the new coronavirus, all in Maputo City. These are two women, aged 55 and 62 years old and two men, 39 and 72 years old. All are individuals of Mozambican nationality.
