Mozambique: Public prosecutor opens 742 post-election protest crime cases

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts adverse weather conditions, predicting heavy rainfall in southern Mozambique,from late Wednesday afternoon to Thursday, Christmas Eve. The authorities have also warned of the occurrence of strong winds.
Heavy rains and winds may lead to slippery roads, overflow of rivers and urban flooding, due to the accumulation of rainwater or drainage systems with deficiencies, falling branches or trees, as well as issues with telecommunications and electricity, alerts the National Institute of Meteorology. INAM further calls for all precautionary measures to be taken.
Risk areas
Greater Maputo: Districts of Matutuine, Boane, Moamba, Marracuene, Manhica, Magude and Namaacha and the cities of Maputo and Matola.
Gaza Province: Bilene, Limpopo, Chongoene, Chokwe, Guija, Chibuto, Massingir, Mabalane, Mapai, Chicualacuala, Massangena, Chigubo, Mandlakazi and the city of Xai-xai.
Inhambane Province: Distritcs of Zavala, Inharrime and Panda.
