Mozambique: FDS attack terrorist base in Mocimboa da Praia – Carta

A battalion including different specialities was deployed on Tuesday for reconnaissance, combat and to relieve the Mueda-Macomia section, which has been raided by terrorists since last August, when the capital of Mocímboa da Praia district was first taken over.

This is the Awasse region, where the electrical substation which supplies the districts in the north of Cabo Delgado is located.

According to military sources, the operation, launched on Tuesday morning, lasted until the end of the afternoon.
