President Filipe Nyusi urged yesterday that technical and professional education become a tool to develop the country, calling for the inclusion of people with disabilities and women in the training process.
“We want to make technical-professional education a tool for Mozambique’s rapid development,” Filipe Nyusi said during the inauguration of the Secretary of State for Technical-Professional Education.
The head of state also wants to encourage the participation of people with disabilities and women in technical and professional education, underlining that there is evidence of their skills.
“Our brothers with disabilities, once given the skills, also carry out their jobs with care. In fact they are very calm and patient, which is why we have to include a quota for them in the training we are going to conduct,” Filipe Nyusi said.
Agostinho Francisco Langa Júnior took office yesterday as the new Secretary of State for Technical and Vocational Education. Before his appointment, he served as Secretary of State for Higher Education and Technical-Professional Training.
“The sector has been somewhat forgotten. The infrastructure is degrading and there is a lack of trainers. This is the investment that we have before us right at this moment,” Agostinho Francisco Langa Júnior told the media after his inauguration.
The Mozambican president this month wound up the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Secretary of State for Technical and Professional Education, and out of them created two entities: the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Secretariat of State for Technical-Professional Education.
