The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) warns of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Niassa on Friday.
According to INAM, rainfall will be “moderate to heavy” (between 30 and 50 millimetres in 24 hours); and “locally heavy” (over 50 millimetres in 24 hours).
In Cabo Delgado province, the bad weather will mainly affect the districts of Namuno, Balama and Montepuez.
In Nampula, the districts of Mecuburi, Lalaua, Ribéuè, Rapale, Muecate, Nacarrôa and Erati will be affected, according to the INAM statement sent to ‘O País’.
In Niassa province, heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind will affect the districts of Mecula, Marrupa, Nipepe, Mavago, Majune, Muembe, Sanga, Chimbonila, Ngauma and the city of Lichinga.
