Mozambique: Business confidence index improves, still negative
Raxio Group to install new data centres in Mozambique and DR Congo

Datacentre developer Raxio Group announced the construction of ten to twelve data centres across Africa, including Mozambique and DR Congo.
The company wants to meet the growing demand for data storage and hosting in East and Central Africa. Raxio Group, created in 2018 by US investor Roha Group, is accelerating its investments on the continent to also take advantage of the digital transformation taking place there. The company’s first two investments in Africa are being made in Uganda and Ethiopia.
In Uganda, Raxio Group is finalising the construction of a neutral level 3 data centre. The company reports that the infrastructure (located 15 km from Kampala in the Namanve Industrial and Commercial Park) can accommodate up to 400 racks, providing 1.5 MW of computing power. It should officially open its doors in the second half of 2020.
In Ethiopia, a level 3 data centre is also under construction. Located in the Addis Ababa Technology Park and designed to house up to 400 racks and provide 1.5 MW of computing power, the facility is expected to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2021.
