Mozambique: Ministry of Labour grants special holiday as Maputo turns 133

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has declared tomorrow a public holiday for all workers, civil servants and residents of Maputo, on the 133rd anniversary of the capital’s elevation to city status.
The special holiday does not however extend to workers whose activity does not by its nature allow interruption, according to a note from the institution to which ‘O País’ has had access.
“It is urged that celebrations be undertaken individually or at home, within the scope of the Covid-19 prevention measures approved by the government,” the statement adds.
