Mozambique’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Eldevina Materula, today launched- at 2:30 p.m. in the Maputo Port Gallery – a competition for the financing and support of cinematographic and audio-visual activity.

The initiative is part of the Week of Cinema festivities, which started yesterday and peaks on November 5, World Cinema Day.
The celebration of World Cinema Day rests on the argument that the seventh art [cinema] is a dominant form of artistic and cultural expression in society, in addition to being a central factor in the affirmation of culture and the spread of values that unite people and contribute to social development.
