The Government of Mozambique has awarded to MozGrain and Agrobusiness the operation and management of silos and warehouses for cereals and legumes. The Council of Ministers spokesman Filimão Suaze made the announcement at the end of Tuesday’s meeting.
The companies won a tender launched by the Mozambican executive, and the Cabinet session authorised the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Carlos Mesquita, to conduct the negotiation and signing of contracts.
MozGrain will take charge of the silos to be rehabilitated in Gorongosa, Nhamatanda, Lichinga, Mugema and Ulónguè and a silo to be built in Milange.
Agrobusiness will explore the silo of Malema, to be rehabilitated, and the complexes of Iapala and Cuamba, its silos yet to be built.
The concessions include the operation and management of the silos and warehouses.
The two concessionaires were chosen by public tender, which also had the participation of Trevo Moçambique, Sociedade do Niassa and AgroNorte.
