Mozambique modernizes airport services

After about six months out of service, the Chambo ferry is back transporting people and goods between Mozambique and Malawi on Lake Niassa.
The interruption in service was imposed by the state of emergency enacted by the government due to the new coronavirus.
Lago district administrator David Machimbuco told Radio Mozambique that the operator had accumulated huge losses during the shutdown, having kept paying the sailors’ salaries and buying fuel to run the ferry’s engines, despite it being at anchor.
The resumption of Chambo navigation will return a certain dynamic to the life of the local population, Machimbuco pointed out.
