Mozambican flag-carrier Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) announced today that it will continue the flights between Maputo and Lisbon which started in August until January 2021.
Flights were scheduled only until the end of September, given the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19, but “taking into account the relevance and take-up rate, LAM has decided to extend until January, 2021”, the company has announced in a statement.
Flights departs from Lisbon for Maputo every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. local time, and from Maputo for Lisbon at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesdays.
“The results have been encouraging,” LAM director general João Carlos Pó Jorge says.
In addition to passengers traveling between Maputo and Lisbon, LAM has been servicing passengers “from different points of origin” and travelling to and from other countries.
“We are working with other airlines in order to provide single rates for destinations and origins other than Lisbon,” João Carlos Pó Jorge adds.
LAM has also instituted a return flight between Maputo and Johannesburg on Wednesdays, allowing passengers to travel between South Africa’s largest city and Lisbon on a single ticket.
