Finally, resident physicians in Mozambique have won the right to normal holidays.
Up until the July 27th of this year, doctors in Mozambique were limited to 15 days of vacation per year and could not ‘roll over’ any holiday they failed to take.
But Ministry of Health diploma 33/2020 of 27 July has amended paragraph 2 of article 51 of the ministerial diploma 85/2016 of 15 November, which now determines that a resident doctor or physician is entitled to 30 vacation days per calendar year.
The new resident doctors’ entitlement, signed by the former Minister of Health Nazira Vay Abdula, has already come into force.
