Insurgents raid village and kill two in Macomia district – Carta

Terrorists in Cabo Delgado last Saturday night launched a raid on the village of Novo Cabo Delgado, Chai administrative post, Macomia district, killing two, ‘Carta de Moçambique’ reports.
‘Carta’ sources relate that the attack met with no resistances from the Defence and Security Forces (FDS), which only appeared on Sunday morning to advise residents to leave the village.
Sources say that Novo Cabo Delgado was inhabited not only by its original residents, but also by people displaced by the conflict from the villages of Miangalewa, Litamanda and Nova Zambézia, in the districts of Macomia and Muidumbe.
The attack, sources say, even perturbed the district capital, Macomia, where some people left their homes to spend the night in the bush.
