Mozambique: MOPHRH and Access bank discuss partnership for financing sector's infrastructure
Born in October 30 1960 in Macia, Ana Comoana served as Minister of State Administration and Civil Service of Mozambique.
She began her primary studies at the Swiss Mission Primary School in Macia and completed the primary level in 1973. She then studied at Liceu Joaquim de Araújo and completed basic secondary education in 1976. She attended technical education at Escola Comercial de Maputo/Instituto Comercial until 1979. In 1998, Ana Comoana obtained her degree in Law at the Faculty of Law of the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM). In 2007, she obtained from the same university, the Master’s degree in legal-Economic Sciences and, in 2014, she holds a PhD in the same area of studies, from the University of Lisbon, Portugal.
From 1981 to 1990, Ana Comoane was a teacher at Escola Comercial and from 1998 to 2010 she taught at UEM, Instituto Superior de Ciências e Tecnologia de Moçambique (ISCTEM) and Universidade São Tomás de Moçambique (USTM).
A lawyer by profession, Ana Comoane has taken on several managerial and management positions in her career. From 1997 to 2001, she was Head of the Department of Industrial Activities and Member of the Mozambique Steel Board of Directors. Between 2001 and 2003, she held the position of Head of the Licensing and Registration Department at the Ministry of Tourism. From 2003 to 2010, she assumed the position of National Director of Tourism and was Coordinator of the team responsible for Tourism Sector Legislation.
During the same period, she was a member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary in the analysis of tourism projects and, from 2002 to 2010, she was Coordinator of the Privatization process. From 2010 to 2015 she was Governor of Manica Province. Ana Comoana is a member of the Mozambican Bar Association since 2000.
Prior to her position as Minister of State and Public Works she served as Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism.
She is a member of the Frelimo Party and its Central Committee.
