The Namaacha border post with Eswatini is being closed temporarily as a preventative measure after one of the National Migration Service (SENAMI) employees on duty there tested positive for Covid-19 there.
According to the SENAMI statement, the 24-hour closure, for disinfection of the facilities and testing of employees, was to take effect from 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Ressano Garcia border post similarly closed for 24 hours on Wednesday after one or more employees of the migration service in neighbouring South Africa tested positive for Covid-19.
The border at Ressano Garcia has since reopened.
