More than a thousand young people will benefit from training abroad in order to meet the technical requirements to join the natural gas extraction project in Cabo Delgado’s Rovuma Basin Area 1.
This was the announcement made in Maputo on Friday by Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Max Tonela after meeting French oil company Total’s President for Exploration and Production, Arnaud Breuilliac.
“There is already a memorandum of understanding between the government and the consortium hired by the partners in the area of construction, which provides for the training and qualification of a thousand people, and we are in discussions with Total about increasing this number,” he said.
Speaking at the meeting, Arnaud Breuillac highlighted his firm’s commitment to the Rovuma Basin Area 1 project, and to the development of those resident in Cabo Delgado province and the country in general.
