“Government strategy is to fight Covid-19 by opening the economy” – President at the Corporate Council on Africa Leaders Forum

President Nyusi has reiterated that the government’s strategy is to combat Covid-19 by reopening the economy, in order to make the management of the response to the pandemic sustainable.

In his address to the Corporate Council on Africa Leaders Forum on Thursday, the head of state said that the government had taken fiscal and monetary measures to support companies and banks in the context of mitigating the effects of Covid-19 on the economy.

The President said in his speech that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World and African Development Banks had responded to government calls, and continued to be key partners in the country’s development efforts.

The president of Mozambique thanked the government of the United States for supporting the responses of these multilateral financial institutions.

“Estratégia do governo é combater a Covid-19 abrindo a economia”- PR no Fórum Virtual de Líderes do Corporate Council on Africa

O Presidente da República, Filipe Nyusi, reitera que o governo tem como estratégia o combate ao Covid-19 abrindo a economia, para tornar sustentável a gestão da resposta à pandemia.

Na sua intervenção no Fórum Virtual de Líderes do Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), que teve lugar hoje, o Chefe do Estado referiu que para mitigar os efeitos da Covid-19 na economia, o governo tomou medidas fiscais e monetárias para apoiar as empresas, incluindo os bancos.

Referiu na sua intervenção, que o Fundo Monetário Internacional (FMI) e os Bancos Mundial e Africano de Desenvolvimento, têm respondido aos apelos do governo e continuam a ser parceiros fundamentais nos esforços do desenvolvimento do país

É neste sentido que o Presidente da República agradece o governo dos Estados Unidos por apoiar respostas destas instituições financeiras multilaterais.
