Portugal: New confinement measures to apply in entire Greater Lisbon area from Tuesday

The Government will apply the main new mandatory confinement measures from Tuesday to the whole Lisbon metropolitan area, namely those concerning store closing times and the imposition of a limit for group gatherings.
In a press conference, in São Bento, at the end of the Government’s meeting with the five presidents of the municipalities currently most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic (Lisbon, Loures, Odivelas, Sintra and Amadora), Prime Minister António Costa stressed that “some of the measures are aimed at the entire metropolitan area. We cannot ignore that we are in a space where the degree of mobility is very great”, claimed António Costa.
Among the main restrictions is the return of the ban on gatherings with more than ten people, the strengthening of the supervision of shopping centres and the general closure of stores at 20:00, with the exception made to restaurants for meal service.
