Minister of the Sea leads World Oceans Day ceremonies in Maputo

The Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, Augusta Maíta, will today lead the central ceremonies of World Oceans Day at the Fisheries Museum in Maputo.
Mozambique is a full member of the United Nations, and has celebrated the date since 2016.
This year, World Oceans Day is celebrated under the motto, “Innovation for Ocean Sustainability: Clean Seas, Protected Ecosystems”.
World Oceans Day was initiated by the United Nations General Assembly on December 5, 2008.
