An average of 30 people are detained daily in Maputo province for violating the state of emergency decree.
These citizens insist on not complying with the rules established in the presidential decree that aims to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
Roughly speaking, the violations consist of non-compliance with the rules governing the functioning of leisure places.
This situation has achieved alarming contours in recent days, chief prosecutor in Maputo province, Evelina Gomane, says.
“This is worrisome for us, because we really did not want any more entrants to the penal establishment, but people have to respect the state of emergency package, whether it suits them or not. I believe that there is a greater good, that is, life,” he summarised.
