Graça Machel recalls the "collective work" of Mozambique's literacy campaigns

Mozambique reported on Saturday four more confirmed C ovid-19, bringing the total of cumulative cases in the country from 164 to 168, but without fatalities, the Ministry of Health announced.
“Of this group, two citizens are Mozambicans and two others are Zambians,” said the director of Public Health of Mozambique, Rosa Marlene, speaking during the press briefing to update data on the pandemic at the Ministry of Health in Maputo.
The new cases are in the provinces of Cabo Delgado (two), northern Mozambique, and Sofala (two), central Mozambique, and are between 25 and 45 years old.
“Everyone is in isolation at home and the Ministry is in the process of mapping their respective contacts,” she said.
The number of people who have fully recovered fro Covid-19 also rose from 48 to 51.
The number of active cases in Mozambique stood at 157, by Saturday (May 23), with no deaths.
Of the total number of cases that the country has registered, 142 are of local transmission and 26 are imported, with 51 people being considered by the authorities as recovered.
Of the total cases registered as far as Saturday (May 23), 90 are in Cabo Delgado province, 41 in Maputo city, 20 in Maputo province, 10 in Sofala, two in Tete, one in Manica, three in Inhambane and one in Gaza.
Between Friday (22) and Saturday (23) 467 tests were performed in the country. Of the samples tested , 241 were from Maputo City, 106 from Maputo Province, 80 from Cabo Delgado, 15 from Zambézia, 21 from Sofala, two from Tete, two from Inhambane and two from Gaza.

In total, since the announcement of the first case in the country, on March 22, 7,947 tests were performed, with about 15,000 people out of the more than 700,000 screened currently being quarantined, and 2,914 continue being monitored by the health authorities.
