Mozambique: Health Ministry confirms shortage of BCG vaccine
Mozambique’s Attorney General said on Tuesday that the inspection of the assets of public office holders was reinforced with the entry of more magistrates in the Public Prosecution Service, defending the respect for the Law of Public Probity.
Beatriz Buchili stressed the need for transparency in the assets held by state leaders when she spoke in Maputo after 35 magistrates took office.
Sixteen of them will work exclusively in the area of inspection of the declaration of assets of the holders of public offices, Beatriz Buchili said.
The fight against violation of the rules that force state leaders to declare their assets was further strengthened with the approval in April of the decree that imposes the suspension of salaries and imposition of fines on the holders of public offices that fail to comply with the legal imposition, Beatriz Buchili added.
The 16 magistrates in charge of overseeing the declaration of assets of state leaders will join the 14 who were already working in this area, throughout the country, bringing the total to 30.
With the new magistrates taking office, the country now has 501 magistrates from the Public Ministry, Buchili said.
