@Verdade has learned that the prime minister, plus ministers and deputy ministers serving in the previous government will receive part of the around 640 million meticais “Reintegration Subsidies” [around US$9.3 million, at current exchange rates] as per the 2020 State Budget.
This amount would cover almost all the education or health sector investment laid out in the 2020 State Budget.
The allocated “Reintegration Subsidy”set aside in the 2020 State Budget is not evenly distributed, but @Verdade estimates that each of the 27 “outgoing leaders” [“dirigentes cessantes”] may eventually receive close to 20 million meticais.
@Verdade learned that the “Reintegration Subsidy” allocation in the 2020 State Budget applies even to members of the Executive who stayed in government [in the 2020-2024 term]. After all, their first formal term ended in 2019, and that is why they are entitled to a “Reintegration Allowance”.
@Verdade estimates indicate that this “Reintegration Subsidy” would build 1,555 classrooms for primary and secondary education in 2020, buy school desks, books for libraries and teaching materials for general secondary education, support the pre education school project, carry out the resilient recovery of school infrastructure and the Disaster Risk and Resilience Management Program in schools, build the Higher Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Mecuburi.
Still for the sake of comparison, the 640 million meticais of “Reintegration Subsidy” would be enough to finish construction of 11 district hospitals, complete works in three general hospitals and also build health centres foreseen in the 2020 State Budget. The amount would also be enough to cover the costs of acquiring medical, surgical and hospital equipment and would support the Tuberculosis, Malaria and HIV AIDS Programs.
