Despite some people being aware of the dangers, vendors at the Waresta wholesale market in Nampula generally continue to ignore coronavirus mitigation measures, Miramar reports.
Vendors and customers alike are ignoring social distancing recommendations, and the use of masks is virtually non-existent, making the market a highly favourable environment for contamination.
Miramar reports that this is a true example of what is happens at the more than 30 formal and informal markets in Nampula, underlining the need for the authorities to reinforce inspection and awareness measures in a bid to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
