Cabo Verde Airlines (CVA) is to temporarily suspend all flights from Wednesday for at least 30 days due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline announced on Tuesday.
In a statement sent to Lusa, the company, managed by Icelandair since March 2019, justified the decision as “a consequence of the progressive spread of the Covid-19 pandemic”, caused by the new coronavirus to more than 150 countries, most of which “have already imposed temporary travel bans forcing airlines to suspend their activities.
“Cabo Verde Airlines reports that in view of the above-mentioned situation and taking into account that the impositions of travel restrictions include all of the company’s routes, it will temporarily suspend all of its flights from 18-03-2020 for a period of at least 30 days,” the company said in a statement.
